Transport

Getting to Auckland
There are a number of airlines that fly from Sydney to Auckland

Information about shuttles, taxis and hire cars can be found at the Auckland Airport website.

Getting to Waiheke
There are two ferry services to Waiheke: Fullers and Sealink. Both are offerieng discounts on their standard fares for our guests.

Fullers Ferries leave from the city and arrive at the Matiatia wharf, the ferry terminal on Waiheke. Buses are timed to meet these sailings, and there is quite often taxis waiting. If you show your invitation when purchasing your ticket, you will get your return ticket at the discounted rate of $28.80. Timetables for the ferry between Auckland and Waiheke can be found here.

The Sealink Ferry leaves from Halfmoon Bay (close to us) arrives at Kennedy point at Waiheke. This is primarily designed as a car ferry, so if you plan on taking your car over this is the ferry for you. Sealink is offering a discounted ticket of $24 - you just need to give them your name. If you take a Sea-link ferry without your car, make sure you book a taxi to pick you up at the other end - there is no terminal or public transport at Kennedy Point.

Although you will save a few dollars traveling with Sealink, unless you are taking your car, we would suggest you travel with Fullers. We think you will have a more comfortable ride and you will likely spend the money you save on taxi fares.

Transport on Waiheke
There are a number of ways you can get around the island:

There are also shuttles that can take you around if you have a group of people you want to get around together. Contact Waiheke Shuttles on 027 237 9849.

Transport to and from our wedding
These forms of transport will help you explore the island, however for transport to and from the wedding we have arranged a bus as transport to and from Onetangi Beach Apartments at a cost of approximately $15 per guest (the exact price will be dependant on how many guests are using the bus). The bus will pick guests up at the apartments at 3:00pm and will do a return trip at 1:00am.

There is only a small number of taxis on the island and they will not cope with transporting large numbers at one time. PLEASE don't rely on taxis to get to the wedding if you can avoid it - they have had many guests late for Waiheke weddings.
